These relationships reflect both the heritage of our people and our engagement with communities, institutions, and initiatives throughout the world.

The Nation conducts international and intergovernmental relations through diplomacy, kinship, cultural continuity, and formal cooperation. These relationships support education, humanitarian service, environmental stewardship, youth development, responsible innovation, media, and community advancement.

Ancestral & Kinship Relations

The Hunnic Matinecock Tribal Nation traces ancestral connections to numerous Indigenous peoples and historic communities whose descendants continue to contribute to the living heritage of our Nation.

These connections include Matinecock, Montaukett, Pequot, Wappinger, Mohawk, Narragansett, Mohegan, Lenape, Powhatan, Cherokee, and related Indigenous families whose histories are preserved through genealogy, historical records, family traditions, and community continuity.

The Nation also preserves ancestral relationships extending across Africa, humanity’s first ancestral homeland and the source of many of the world’s earliest peoples, migrations, kinship systems, and governing traditions.

The wider ancestral record includes relationships associated with peoples and cultural regions of East, West, North, Central, and Southern Africa, including Fulani, Amazigh, Nubian, Nilotic, Bantu-speaking, Sahelian, Senegambian, Guinean, Congolese, and other African communities represented within the Nation’s documented and inherited lines.

These relationships are maintained according to the evidence supporting each lineage, including documented descent, family tradition, migration history, genetic corroboration, and continuing cultural research.

The Nation does not treat Africa as a single undifferentiated identity. Every African people retains its own history, language, law, culture, territory, and political inheritance.

Together, these ancestral streams form part of the broader tribal and civilizational continuity carried through the Nation’s Sovereign Head and inform its commitment to Pan-African cooperation, Indigenous solidarity, cultural preservation, humanitarian service, and respectful relations among peoples.

The Nation’s African inheritance complements—without replacing—its specific Indigenous American governmental foundation.

Asian Imperial & Dynastic Kinship

The Hunnic Matinecock Tribal Nation also recognizes ancestral connections extending into the historic dynasties of East Asia.

Through the hereditary ancestry of the Sovereign Head, the Nation’s wider dynastic continuity includes lines associated with the Joseon Dynasty, the Kingdom of Goryeo, and the Mongol Imperial House, including the historic marriage alliance of Princess Jeguk and King Chungnyeol. These relationships inform the Nation’s broader royal and inter-sovereign diplomacy while remaining distinct from its Indigenous governmental foundation.

These ancestral connections reflect a heritage that extends across Indigenous, tribal, royal, noble, and imperial traditions spanning multiple continents and centuries.

Institutional Partnerships

The Jena Declaration (TJD)

Official Project Partner

The Jena Declaration (TJD) is an esteemed academic, sustainability, cultural, and international alliance & project partner of the Hunnic Matinecock Tribal Nation. As both an institutional signatory and formal cooperating partner, the Nation works alongside TJD to advance place-based sustainability, Indigenous knowledge, cultural continuity, education, research, youth engagement, and responsible international development. Their shared commitment to service, dignity, and responsible healthcare advancement makes them valued prospective collaborators in a framework intended to serve Indigenous peoples, underserved communities, families, and international partner regions.

The Nation’s role is to ensure that Indigenous peoples remain leaders and co-stewards within the initiative, with traditional knowledge protected from misuse, commercialization, extraction, or application without proper authorization and free, prior, and informed consent.

These formal conversations represent an important step toward a healthcare model that is culturally grounded, scientifically responsible, community-centered, and capable of connecting ancestral wisdom with the strongest appropriate tools of modern medicine.

The emerging relationship reflects a shared vision of healthcare that treats dignity, culture, knowledge, prevention, and human connection as essential parts of healing.

Declaration

The Hunnic Matinecock Tribal Nation maintains a living network of ancestral relationships, intertribal kinship, dynastic continuity, and formal institutional alliances.

These relationships are distinct in origin but united by shared principles of sovereignty, dignity, reciprocity, stewardship, and service.

Through diplomacy and active cooperation, the Nation builds enduring pathways in education, youth development, environmental protection, health, humanitarian service, media, culture, responsible technology, and international understanding.

We honor the relationships inherited from the past, govern them responsibly in the present, and develop them for the benefit of future generations.

Preamble International Relations, Kinship &
